Sobre nosotros

Nuestra historia

Pastors Blog

You'll find a family atmosphere at Afton Assembly of God. We come from different backgrounds, but gather each week to celebrate our common Christian heritage. Our song service includes blended worship, combining the hymns of the church and choruses from generations past to the present. Our object is to exalt our Heavenly Father, adore Jesus, the Savior, and welcome the presence of the Holy Spirit. You'll notice our Pentecostal worship. You're encouraged to join us in clapping or raising your hands while singing. Sometimes, someone will praise the Lord out loud, with a “Thank you Jesus,” “Amen!” or other phrase.
When we pray, it's usually out loud, at times with everyone praying at once. In our prayers, we believe God for big things, including physical healing and other miracles. Testimonies of God's intervention in our lives is a regular feature when we meet. We honor the eternal truths of God's word. You'll hear preaching that relates to life today while keeping the Bible's timeless teachings central. Whether you're visiting the area or are looking for a church where you can plant roots, we welcome you to worship with us.

Lo que creemos

Statement of Fundamental Truths

  1. We believe the Bible is the inspired word by God (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).

  2. We believe there is One True God revealed in three persons (Isaiah 43:10; Matthew 28:19).

  3. We believe Jesus Christ is fully Divine (Revelation 1:1,7-8; Philippians 2:10-11).

  4. We believe mankind willingly sinned, bringing spiritual and physical death upon the human race (Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23).

  5. We believe Jesus' death on the cross paid for our sins, that personally accepting His payment restores us to right relationship with God (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 10:9-10).

  6. We believe each believing Christian should be baptized in water believing on Jesus as their Savior and should regularly receive the emblems of communion (Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:6).ll things that I said to you.”

  7. We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. We accept it as a post-salvation experience that enables us to tell others about Jesus (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:20).

  8. We believe in the traditional initial, physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe that today like on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, that evidence is speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:45-46).

  9. We believe sanctification is an integral part of Christian's spiritual growth.

  10. We believe the Bible teaches that we spend our entire lives increasingly conforming to the spiritual likeness of Jesus (Romans 12:1-2; I Peter 1:15-16).

  11. We believe the church's mission is to worship it's Savior, disciple it's members, minister to those in need, and tell the world about Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20; James 1:17).

  12. We believe that God calls pastors as spiritual shepherds to lead congregations.(I Corinthians 4:11-13; Hebrews 13:17).

  13. We believe that divine healing was provided for in the atonement and is a privilege for Christians today (Isaiah 53:4-5; James 5:14-15).

  14. We believe in the Blessed Hope, also known as the Rapture. On a day that no one knows, Jesus will return in the clouds to catch away all those ready to meet Him (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13).

  15. We believe that seven years after the Blessed Hope, Jesus will return with his followers to rule over earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3; Micah 4:3-4).

  16. We believe in a final judgment for all whose names are not written in God's book of life (Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8).

  17. We believe in a new heaven and a new earth where those who follow God now will live eternally (II Peter 3:13; Revelation 21).
